Our Data Privacy, Cybersecurity and Technology Alert aims to update April's Briefing in regards to the extension of the deadline for the NCSA registration from 11 April to 30 May 2025.
1. The Ministry of Digital Governance and the National Cybersecurity Authority (NCSA) announced yesterday an extension of the deadline for registering with the NCSA1 to 30 May 2025.
2. The extension applies to the Registry of Essential and Important Entities2 and to the Special Registry of Article 19 of Law 5160/2024 where certain digital infrastructure and services providers are required to register.
3. Until the dedicated online platform becomes operational, entities must submit the necessary information by email to register.ncsa@cyber.gov.gr and will receive a confirmation message with a protocol number.
4. The information which must be submitted to each registry is specified in Law 5160/2024 and Joint Ministerial Decision 1381/10.02.20253.
5. The extension allows entities additional time to complete their assessment as to whether they are required to register with the NCSA and to make the filing on time if they are.
6. It is important for entities to develop a comprehensive plan with a view to streamlining their overall compliance with the legal framework on cybersecurity in Greece as it applies to them.
